Dinghy Dock Pub & Restaurant (Protection Island)

If you are relaxing or touring the Nanaim Area, a trip to the Dinghy Dock Floating Pub & Family Restaurant is a must. Built in 1989 and has always been family owned and operated. Most of what you see around the pub has been donated by visitors from all over the world. As it started as this tiny place with very little parking for any type of vessel people would pull up and tie up their dinghy’s to use the pub (which they still do today). 3 major expansions later- enclosing the family area, kitchen expansions, outdoor decks and major upgrades on the outdoor docks is what you see today. The pub is a registered vessel which was no easy task and was the first time in Canadian history that a pub was registered as a boat. The pub can be untied and floated if need be.
