A proposed mega-yacht marina is scheduled for Victoria in 2009. The  48 berth marina is to be constructed on the harbour, adjacent to the Songhees community. Estimated cost is $20 million.

The marina is to accommodate larger yachts,  from 65 to 140 feet long. Two symmetrical, one-story buildings located at each side of a 46-slip marina will mimic the look of a yacht setting out to sea, with sweeping bows, squared off sterns, and solid stainless steel rigging. From above, the view will look like a stylized yacht propeller. 

In addition to the Yacht Club facilities, the marina plans include a public restaurant and lounge, a coffee shop and a marine provisions supplier.
