| New Floatplane Air Service Between Vancouver and Comox |

April 01/08 West Coast Air has inaugurated daily scheduled service from Vancouver to Comox, on Vancouver Island,effective April 1, 2008 with departures from the downtown terminal just west of Canada Place, arriving at the Comox Bay Marina. Six flights are scheduled Monday - Friday with two flights on Saturday & Sunday. Other West Coast Air terminals are centrally located. In Vancouver, with a temporary location is just west of Canada Place in Coal Harbour (until 2008 when the Vancouver Trade & Convention Centre and Marine Terminal are complete), in Richmond at the YVR Floatplane Base, in Victoria’s Inner Harbour, in Nanaimo Harbour on Anchor Way and in Sechelt, on Wharf Street beside the Lighthouse Pub. One of the largest floatplane operators on the west coast, their fleet is comprised of 20 aircraft; 6 deHavilland Twin Otters (18 highback leather seats), 13 deHavilland Beavers (6 seats) and one Cessna 180 (3 seats). Twin Otter and Beaver aircraft are much sought after for their well deserved reputation for safety and reliability. |
