SS Beaver Returns To The Water PDF Print E-mail

June 14/08

The historic SS Beaver, which for many years sat forlorn and neglected, has now been returned to its moorings at Victoria’s Fisherman’s Wharf following an extensive re-fit and restoration.

The Beaver is a replica of the original SS Beaver that went down on the rocks in 1888 at Prospect Point, just off Vancouver’s Stanley Park. She had originally sailed from London, England to Vancouver and, eventually, up the Fraser River to Fort Langley carrying officials for the Proclamation of The Colony of British Columbia.

The newly restored replica of the SS Beaver will function as a charter cruise operation and will offer historical tours as well as being available for private functions.
